The Basement is an intimate 150-capacity rock and songwriter club established in 2005 by Mike Grimes and Geoff Donovan (Dave Brown joined months later), tucked behind 8th Ave S under the former Grimey’s record shop. Known for early?career showcases like its long?running New Faces Night and for hosting Metallica’s Live at Grimey’s recording in 2008, it draws indie, rock, and Americana crowds in a cozy, locals?favorite room.
