Jazz at Blair: Blair Big Band

Composed entirely of undergraduate musicians, the Vanderbilt Blair Big Band has established itself as one of the nation’s premier collegiate jazz ensembles. Voted Best Big Band by readers of the Nashville Scene, the ensemble performs a diverse repertoire spanning classic big band standards, contemporary jazz works, and original compositions by its members. The Blair School’s jazz program, directed by Ryan Middagh, has earned 16 DownBeat Student Music Awards and continues to garner critical acclaim and recognition throughout the jazz community.
