Pianist Pat Coil leads his sextet with Eric Wurzelbacher on saxophone, Barry Green on trombone, Andrew Golden on trumpet, Craig Akin on bass and Ryan Brasley on drums. Pianist Pat Coil has toured Japan, South America, Europe and the U.S. with such artists as Michael McDonald, Carmen McCrae, Olivia Newton John, Amy Grant, Vince Gill, Woody Herman and many others. Pat has recorded with many artists including Natalie Cole, Trisha Yearwood, Ernie Watts, Carmen McCrae, BeBe & CeCe Winans, Kenny Rogers, Travis Tritt, Peter Cetera, Woody Herman, Scott Henderson, and Michael McDonald. During his L.A. years, Pat played on many movie and TV scores, including Star Trek - Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, Murphy Brown, Dionne Warwick & Friends, Growing Pains, Major Dad, Spencer For Hire, The Grammy Awards and many more. He played for various artists on the Tonight Show, Arsenio Hall, & Conan O’Brien. Living now in Nashville TN, Pat continues his successful career composing, recording, performing, producing, arranging and teaching. He has composed, produced and performed on hundreds of underscores heard on a variety of media all over the world. Pat taught jazz piano, combos, and improvisation at Middle Tennessee State University, and was an Associate Professor of Jazz Studies at the University Of North Texas. Jazz Journal UK described his style as a “foot-tapping mix of hard-bop improv and rock,” while Jammerzine praised his expressive approach, writing that “Wurzelbacher has tapped into the soul of music.” His group made its first national appearance at the Newport Jazz Festival in 2019, introducing a wider audience to his adventurous original work. As a leader and composer, Wurzelbacher has released six albums of original music: Eco Quartet (2017), Power (2018), Maya (2019), Idle Minds (2021), Don’t Climb the Towers (2024), and YOUNGBLOODS TRIO (2025). Barry Green is a professional brass player based out of Nashville, TN, specializing in studio recording and live performance since 1981. Barry has had extensive recording experience on trombone, bass trombone, and euphonium in genres ranging from Jazz, Gospel, and R&B, as well as extensive orchestral work with the Nashville, Chattanooga, and Huntsville Symphonies. Barry has had the opportunity to perform and record with many of the greatest names in music today. He has toured nationally and internationally with Larry Carlton, as well as throughout the United States with artists such as Vince Gill and Amy Grant. His album credits include artists such as Michael McDonald, Tony Bennett, Lee Ann Rhymes, and Keith Urban. Barry has also been active as a musician for television, movies and video games, including such recognizable titles as Lost in Space, Space Force, Call of Duty (Black Ops 3, 4, Cold War, Infinite Warfare, Modern Warfare, WWII), Destiny 2, Halo, Marvel’s Spider-Man, and Star Wars: (Jedi: Fallen Order, Squadrons, Knights of the Fallen Empire, Battlefront, Knights of the Eternal Throne). Nashville-based trumpeter, composer, and synth artist Andrew Golden brings a versatile, genre-spanning voice to the stage, moving fluidly through jazz, funk, soul, R&B, indie pop, and electronic music. His performance and recording credits include Kelly Clarkson, Yelawolf, Kacey Musgraves, Jesse Welles. Lauren Daigle, Anderson East, Katie Pruitt, The Color Purple, 42nd Street, and the world tour of West Side Story, for which he served as principal trumpet. Golden also leads the Nashville instrumental quartet Golden Hour, a group that began with an East Nashville residency exploring lesser-known Horace Silver compositions before developing its own original blend of jazz, funk, soul, and atmospheric electronic textures. Playing trumpet, cornet, flugelhorn, and synthesizers, Golden is featured on the group’s albums in-transit (2022) and little worlds (2023), both of which showcase his lyrical brass sound and adventurous approach to contemporary groove-based music. Born in Tulsa, OK, bassist Craig Akin learned to play the piano at age 8 and turned to the trumpet at 12. Akin enrolled in formal music education in Colorado where his grit and guitar prowess naturally flowed into electric bass and a coveted spot in the faculty jazz quintet. Akin then went to the University of Kansas to complete his music education degree and was drawn to the electric bass, followed by a fervor for upright, landing him many local gigs as a first-call bassist. Kansas City proved to be the perfect incubator for Craig, averaging 270 shows a year and having the honor to play in clubs with nearly everyone on the jazz and blues scene including veterans Tommy Ruskin, Paul Smith, Greg Meise, Danny Embrey, Rod Fleeman, Todd Strait, Gary Sivils, Karrin Allyson, Bobby Watson, Gary Foster, Frank Mantooth. A decade later, Craig was drawn to New York City where he learned from veteran bassists Jay Anderson, Scott Colley and Larry Grenadier. Craig was keyed into further opportunities for growth, including a pivotal career moment; two years of study with Miles Davis’s famed bassist Ron Carter. Nowadays, whether he’s playing his upright or electric bass, on stage or in the studio... jazz, pop, blues or rock, Craig is comfortable and creative, and he consistently delivers the goods. Akin can be found playing or recording with various Nashville artists of different genres and is known for being easy to work with, approaching each new project with fresh ears and laid back Midwestern personality. Originating from Chicago, Illinois, drummer, percussionist, educator and composer Ryan Brasley has a career spanning over the last 15 years. Ryan began his musical journey in the Indie/ Alternative rock world as a founding member of The Giving Moon. During this time he had the opportunity to perform across the country working with artists such as Eddie Money, Edgar Winters, and producer Gary Hoey who oversaw the creation of the bands first album. As he grew older, Ryan discovered a passion for jazz and improvised music which lead him to pursue and complete a degree in Jazz Studies and Contemporary Media from the prestigious Eastman School of Music. During his education, Ryan had the privilege of studying under world renowned factually such as Rich Thompson, Gary Versace, Bill Dobbins, Harold Danko, and others. Over the course of his degree, Ryan not only had the chance to perform with world class artists but also had frequent opportunities to teach in the greater Rochester, NY community. Since moving to Nashville, TN in the last 3 years, Ryan has maintained and active schedule teaching from his private studio and freelancing, performing regularly with local artists such as Don Aliquo, Joel Frahm, Pat Coil, Jonathan Wires, as well as being a regular performer at Skulls Rainbow Room.
