This week’s Discovery Design Time captures a memory in Holiday Photos, a 25 Days of Discovery-themed session exploring the technology behind modern printmaking. Guests will use a mobile zero-ink printer — a device that uses heat instead of ink to bring an image to life on special dye-embedded paper — to turn a photo into a personalized keepsake.
Guests will have their photo printed on the spot (or choose from a prepared character design), then cut, assemble, and decorate their own ornament using a frame backing, ribbon, and craft supplies. The result is a one-of-a-kind holiday keepsake to take home and hang.
Guests will build new vocabulary like printing, assembly, decorations, and memory, while discovering how technology and art come together to preserve special moments.
Discovery Design Time is a weekly program held every Thursday at Discovery Center at Murfree Spring — each session features a new theme and activity, so guests can join again and again for a fresh hands-on art experience.
