Silvana Estrada has become one of the defining voices of her generation, a Latin GRAMMY winner whose songwriting draws on Latin American tradition, indie folk, and jazz, anchored by her Venezuelan cuatro. Her debut, Marchita, earned her the Latin GRAMMY for Best New Artist, and her follow-up, Vendrán Suaves Lluvias, landed on year-end lists from Pitchfork, NPR, and the LA Times, ranking third on Rolling Stone's best Latin albums of the year.
Her rise has been genuinely international. She's sold out theaters from her hometown of Coatepec, Veracruz, to Reykjavík, Prague, Oslo, London, and Vancouver, and collaborated with Natalia Lafourcade, Gustavo Dudamel and the LA Philharmonic, Laufey, and Andrew Bird, with appearances on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and two NPR Tiny Desk performances.
