Join us for a Blair Master Series recital featuring internationally recognized oboist Jared Hauser on Thursday, October 1, 2026. A performer, recording artist, and champion of new music, Hauser will present a program highlighting the oboe’s extraordinary expressive range, lyricism, and versatility. Known for his engaging artistry and imaginative programming, he brings audiences a compelling blend of beloved repertoire and contemporary works.

About Jared Hauser
Jared Hauser, oboe, is associate professor of oboe at the Vanderbilt Blair School of Music and an internationally recognized performer, teacher, and champion of new music. Praised by critics as a “sensitive, elegant soloist” with a “subtle refined style,” he has commissioned, premiered, and recorded works by many leading contemporary composers. He also serves on the faculties of the Interlochen Center for the Arts and the National Music Festival.
An active soloist and chamber musician, Hauser performs with the Blair Woodwind Quintet, Nashville Opera Orchestra, Intersection, and several early-music ensembles. His recordings have appeared on Naxos, BGR, Koch International, and other labels, and his performances have been featured on NPR’s Performance Today, CBC/Radio Canada, and BBC Radio 3. A Yamaha Performing Artist, he holds degrees from the Oberlin Conservatory, Rice University, the University of Michigan, and Michigan State University.
