LA native ZG Smith spent over a decade based in Nashville and was the frontman, primary songwriter, and founding member of Americana duo Smooth Hound Smith. He released his debut solo EP Nighttime Animal on February 23, 2023 (Tone Tree Music) and has toured across the US, Canada, and Europe, sharing stages with acts such as The Chicks, Trombone Shorty, and Collective Soul. His solo work has received airplay and press support from outlets including The Current, NPR’s World Cafe, Lightning 100, PopMatters, and The Bluegrass Situation.
