Founded in 1946, the Nashville Symphony is resident at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center and has an extensive recording history, including many releases on the Naxos label. The orchestra has earned numerous Grammy Awards for its recordings. On February 11, 2026 the Nashville Symphony announced Leonard Slatkin as its next music director, effective autumn 2026.
