Founded in 2015 by singer Scott McLaughlin, the Scotty Mac Band released the EPs Messin' Around (2016) and Starts With A Girl (2018) and has issued singles through 2021–2022. The band won the California Country Association’s Entertainer of the Year award in 2017 and has opened for national touring acts and played major country festivals across the U.S.
