About
Founded in 2000 by Jeff Reed and Mike Thurman as the Bowling Green Chamber Orchestra, the organization expanded and was renamed Orchestra Kentucky in 2009. The ensemble programs a mix of pops, family, and education concerts, created a youth orchestra and String Academy, and has produced popular crossover shows (often performing with a house band, The Rewinders). Orchestra Kentucky now operates as a resident company of the Southern Kentucky Performing Arts Center (SKyPAC) and presents a large seasonal series across south-central Kentucky.
