After graduating from the University of Georgia, McKinney relocated to Nashville to pursue a career as a professional songwriter. In 2020 he signed a publishing deal with Sony Music Publishing and co-wrote the viral, RIAA Double?Platinum Billboard #1 song "Dicked Down in Dallas." He remains active in Music Row writing rooms and has earned multiple major?artist cuts and placements.
