Formed during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown by Scott Hammons and guitarist Brian Buzard, Lola Vain began as a remote duo before building out a live band. They released singles such as "I'm Alive" and "Dirty, Filthy, Crazy", enlisted contributors including Pete Griffin and Ken Mary, and their "I'm Alive" video amassed over 115,000 views while the group prepared to play live shows.
