Dickey Lee (born Royden Dickey Lipscomb) began recording in the late 1950s and scored major chart hits in the 1960s including "Patches" and "Laurie (Strange Things Happen)". He returned to the charts in the 1970s with singles such as "Rocky" and "9,999,999 Tears" and wrote or co-wrote enduring songs including "She Thinks I Still Care" and "The Keeper of the Stars". He was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1995 and has received numerous BMI awards.
