Born Brenda Gail Webb, she rose to international prominence with the 1977 crossover hit "Don't It Make My Brown Eyes Blue", which earned her a Grammy for Best Female Country Vocal Performance. She became the first female country artist to have a platinum album (We Must Believe in Magic), accumulated numerous No.1 country singles, and was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry in 2017.
